Presentation

Physician compensation compliance is an active—but sometimes underappreciated—risk area for hospitals and health systems. Widespread support for action on fraud and abuse has led to recoveries of $19.2 billion over the last five years, and a significant portion of recoveries and settlements are related to Stark violations, including significant damages even at small and rural facilities. Join BKD for part two of this series and hear detailed explanations and specific advice on best practices for risk management strategies regarding contractual physician compensation.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize systemic risk in physician contractual relationships
  • Distinguish risk drivers in physician relationships and recognize potential inefficiencies in compliance spending relative to a given risk profile
  • Describe the relationship between entity-level risk management and necessary internal control support structure over physician contractual relationships
